Fun Spring Projects to Knit and Crochet - Corrected Thursday drop-in dates!

What's happening at Chicks With Sticks logo

Time to start a Spring Project!

Berroco's newest recycled yarn is Seaspun, a 50/50 cotton and SEAQUAL polyester blend.  SEAQUAL is made from 10% reclaimed plastic from the ocean!  You can learn more about the SEAQUAL Initiative here

Tasman knit top in blue Seaspun Andaman sweater in crocheted peach Seaspun

Seaspun is smooth to the touch and its chainette construction gives your finished product beatiful drape. Just two of the projects that you can work up in Seaspun are Tasman, knit with lovely lace detailing and Andaman, a pretty all-over crocheted lace coverup.

Chaski skein in soft green

Chaski from Amano is a soft, washable blend of 60% Superwash Merino Wool, 30% Pima Cotton, and 10% Linen.  This springy and structured sock weight yarn is perfect for all your lacy summer creations.

Samay skein in lavender

Samay is another new summer yarn from Amano that is easy wash and easy care.  A blend of 60% Pima Cotton and 40% sustainable Bamboo, its soft, summery feel is perfect for summer knit and crochet projects.

Ultra Alpaca

The 2024 edition of the West Michigan Yarn Quest starts in just over a week, running from Thursday, April 4 to Saturday, April 13.  There are seven shops participating this year: Country Needleworks, Garenhuis, Henny's, JT Stitchery, Knit & Spin, New Ewe, and yours truly, Chicks With Sticks.

Passports are still available and this year they're only $5! At each shop visited during the Quest, passport holders will receive a free choice of knit or crochet pattern, 15% off all regularly priced yarn, and entry into daily doorprize drawings. Visit all seven shops to be entered into the grand prize drawing (a $700 value!) or at least five shops to be entered into the runners-up prizes (7 in total, each valued at $150).

Pick up your passport now or even during the Yarn Quest, but make sure you don't miss out on the fun!

Upcoming Classes:
