New at Chicks With Sticks - Carousel and Ultra Alpaca

What's happening at

Check out two of our new fall yarns: Carousel is a new sportweight burst of color from Berroco. A lightweight and colorful yarn, it features color flowing all through the plies giving off an overall balanced look. It works up beautifully in bold textures like entrelac and big crochet motifs. Carousel is a blend of 52% wool and 48% Acrylic, with a whopping 418 yds per 100g ball. Use Carousel for Celosia, a beautiful cowl that begins with floral crochet motifs that are joined in the round. The edging is created with double crochet to make a shaped cowl that is perfect for any outfit.  You can also choose to hold a strand of Aerial with Carousel to create a cowl with a soft halo effect. Ask us for this free pattern from Berroco! Ultra Alpaca is the ideal balance of luxurious super fine Alpaca and Peruvian Highland Wool blended together and spun up perfectly round and light. Each color is beautiful on its own or combined in endless colorwork possibilities. Summer Soundtrack is a fun way to get started on colorwork, using one skein each of two different colors of a worsted weight yarn. Ultra Alpaca would be perfect! Upcoming Classes:

September Building Blocks The next session will be Saturday, September 16 at 9-11 am. This is a drop-in class (no need to pre-register).  You can find more information here.

Beginning Knitting is a 3-session class to teach you the basics of what is sure to become a life-long passion.  You'll learn to cast-on, knit, purl, increase and decrease, and bind off.  By Class 3, you'll be ready to start your first project! The next classes are on Wednesdays, September 13, 20, and 27, 6-8pm. You can sign up online here, or call or stop by the store.

My First Socks class is sold out, but another class will be scheduled soon!

Thursday Night Drop-In is a chance to get some help on a troublesome project or just hang out knit or crochet with a fun group!  There is no charge to drop in.  September sessions will be held every Thursday in September from 6-8pm, starting today!
