Farmer's Daughter Craggy Tweed is Here!

We have something new for you!  The Farmer's Daughter Craggy Tweed is a smooth and lofty 4-ply DK that is 85% Superwash Merino and 15% NEPs (the tweedy bits!).  Each 100 g skein has 231 yards.  It will become your new favorite for squishy sweaters, hats, cowls, and shawls.  Here are just a few suggestions for projects that would work up great in Craggy Tweed:

Spiced Ginger by Marie Greene Spiced Ginger by Marie Greene features faux cables that use clever twisted stitches to mimic cables - no cable needle required!  Our model used all of two hanks of Craggy Tweed
Hipster by Joji Locateli Odyssey by Joji Locatelli is another great option for Craggy Tweed. Choose three of your favorite Craggy Tweed colors - one hank each - and knit up this beauty to throw over your shoulders on cool evenings.
Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter is the perfect thing to get started on in anticipation of fall.  Choose a main color and three contrasting colors - the sky's the limit!
Love Autumn by Monika Anna Love Autumn Cowl by Monika Anna uses just one hank each of two colors - and reverse the colors and use your leftovers to knit up the matching mitts!
Kodikas Kodikas by Caitlin Hunter is another lovely shawl that you can work up in time for cooler weather.  It uses one hank each of four different colors.

Upcoming Classes:

Stranded Colorwork

Introduction to Needle Tatting: What is tatting, you ask?  It's a type of lace made with larks head knots and picots in a sequence of rings and chains using a long needle.  Traditionally, this lace was created using fine thread; in this class, you will explore tatting with a large needle and yarn, opening up the possibilities of what you can create.  Join us for a 2-session class that begins on Wednesday, June 21, 1-2:30 pm.  More information and online sign-up is available here or call us at 269-552-9276 with questions or to register.

The Tunisian Crochet Handbook by Toni Lipsey

Introduction to Crochet:  Have you looked at magazines and seen all the beautiful crochet items that are all the rage now? Let Molly Yoshikawa get you started with the basics in this 3-hour summer workshop.  We will be learning single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet and working flat.  Kids 11+ are welcome.  Choose Saturday, July 8 -or- August 5. Each class is from 1-4 pm.  More information and online sign-up is available here or call us at 269-552-9276 with questions or to register.

Beginning Knitting:  Knitting is fun and is a great way to reduce stress!  Our next 3-session learn-to-knit class will be July 12, 19, and 26, 6-8 pm.  Online sign-up is available here.
