Chicks With Sticks Summer Knits and Crochets

Summer is a fine time to play with yarn!

I hope those who participated had a great time during West Michigan Yarn Quest!  We loved having so many yarn enthusiasts visit us! Thank you all for your kind words and the encouragement you give to the West Michigan Local Yarn Shops.

Do you put your yarn up in the summer?  Don't let warm weather stop you from doing what you love!  I knit and crochet year around - I just change to lighter weight yarns and airy projects for the spring and summer months.  One yarn that is lovely for warm weather projects is Berroco Remix Light.  Here are just a few projects you can try:

	Ponente is an all-over lace rib pattern that forms a classic cardigan. Knit in pieces and seamed, this cardigan is sure to become a wardrobe staple.
	Derecho begins at the neck and is worked down. Easy eyelet stitches shape the yoke and add decoration to the neckline at the same time.
	Fragaria Tee is a simple cropped tee that is quickly knit with just a few balls! The body is knit in the round with a mesh panel at the sides and the yoke.
	Kyrie is the perfect cardigan for spring. Crocheted in a simple allover lace pattern, this has built in air conditioning. Fronts and back are worked separately with curved front hems and seamed together.
	Imogen is a top-down crocheted cardigan pattern. The lace panels on the front are repeated on the sleeves and back for an open, airy cardigan that's perfect for summer.

Thursday Night Yarn Therapy is available most Thursdays from 6-8 pm. Join us for help or just to hang out with yarn-minded folks!  Next sessions are May 25, June 1, June 8, and June 15.  There will be no session on June 22.
