Spring Arrivals at Chicks With Sticks
While it may not look too spring-like outside, we've received lots of beautiful Spring and Summer yarns! Here's a sampling: |
Berroco Summer Sesame is a soft and colorful light worsted cotton blend that is perfect for that new summer top. Is a crochet hook your preferred tool? Zelie turns half-double crochet into a quick new tee for you. If you're a knitter, consider combining Summer Sesame and Pima 100 to make Gioia. Vivo is another new arrival from Berroco. It is 100% cotton DK in beautiful soft colors. Beryl tee and Sapphire cardi are just a couple of the options. And there's more, like Liza from Lang, Meraki from Berroco, and Cotton Yak, Marmel, and Yucatan from the Knitting Fever family of yarns. |
Classes Did you miss out on the first Winters Beach Cardi class? Not to worry because it's back! The class will run on three Mondays, April 18, May 2 and 16, 6-8pm. The cost is $50 + materials (you'll get 20% off those materials!) A full description can be found here. Beginning Knitting classes are offered monthly. The next classes start Wednesday, April 13. You can sign up for one or take the series of three classes (Beginning Knitting 1, 2, and 3). Check our class list here or calendar here. Our monthly "Building" classes are a great choice for the newer knitting looking to expand. This class meets one Saturday a month and helps you work through the Building Blocks, Building in Color, or Building in Lace books from Knit Purl Hunter / Skacel. The class is a drop-in format and you can hop into the series at any time! Info can be found on our website here. Does a project have you down? Thursday night drop-in help sessions may be just what you need for those times you need a couple hours of assistance (or just moral support) on a project. Sessions run from 6-8pm Thursday nights and cost $5. Be sure to check our online calendar or give us a call as there may occasionally be a night when there is no class. Charity Update: Christian Neighbors is a non-profit organization in Plainwell that provides food, emergency assistance with rent or utility bills, and financial classes and mentorship. They hold an annual event in May to raise funds by auctioning off hand-made items. If you have anything you would like to donate, you can drop them by the shop no later than April 9 and we'll get them to Christian Neighbors by the April 15 deadline.
